Hardy County, part of the Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia, has a history of agriculture. Through this county flows the South Branch Potomac River with its surrounding magnificent valley, offering an array of water activities.

Lost River State Park is a beautiful scenic area, home to a Civilian Conservation Corps era-shelter and many hikes to enjoy. Wardensville and Moorefield are home to many small shops, restaurants and interesting places to visit. Trout Pond, located in the George Washington National Forest, is West Virginia’s only natural lake, although only two acres in size.
